Effective management of social-economic development of the region is impossible without well-organized system of monitoring of its territories at present time. The problem of choice of optimal monitoring instruments is getting the more actual. Assessment of competitive potential of municipal organizations in Sverdlovsk Oblast and its influence on social and economic policy of the territories is considered in the article on the basis of results of social-economic development in 2005.
